Wow.

So after we left Virginia, we drove up to Washinton DC, which is really cool! really wanna go back there sometime. We stayed with my moms friend Gail, because there were no more hotelrooms left. THere was some sort of conference and everything was booked out… so Gail gave us her apartment and stayed with a neighbor! That was so nice… And we ate at this Lebanese restaurant. It was really good! Even the lemonade, it had like mint in it… great :)

And then the next day we drove up to Pennsylvania, and this is the interesting part. The actual exchange.

And wow. It’s amazing.

They have this old victorian house, with three floors and a big basement, a bug back yard, and they decorated everything so nicely.. like, really personal. It’s a little crowded (the walls, not the rooms, there’s definately enough room) but really cute :) I’m uploading pictures, so check out the pictures page!

So, the family: I’ve met the father, Franck, before when he came to Switzerland. He’s really nice and funny :) Then I met the kids: Sten (the oldest boy) is 11, Caroline is 9 and Liam is 8.

Sten is pretty funny :) All of them are though.. but he’s like, witty funny. Caroline is so cute :) And she’s not one of those annoying little kids. SHe loves to talk though… I have to practice listening to two people at once, because they all talk at the same time XD Then Liam is really funny. He playes football (XD he looks so funny in his uniform). And he eats sooo much , like, omg!! Yesterday we were out and we grilled, and I ate 5 ribs, he ate like 12!!

So the first night I was here, Caroline and Liam came to my room (because we were talking about shoe sizes, and I got him to try on my high heels :D) and they just talked and talked and everything… They’re cute kids :) And they’re funny :)

And they also have a dog, Boomer, he’s a Labradoodle (lab poodle mix), and he is soo cute! He’s a nicely sized dog (I don’t like the little ones… I mean, they’re cute, but I wouldn’t want one…), and he has curly hair which means he doesn’t shed, and so when you pet him you don’t end up with all of that hair on your palm :D ANd he’s soo cuddly, he’s like a big teddy bear. And he’s really friendly. The first morning I got up at 7.30 and went on a walk with him. I was out for 45 minutes but it seemed like much longer.

Caroline and I just brought him to the groomers about an hour ago, so he’s not around… but here’s a picture:

Yeah, and then the second day (yesterday) I finally met the mom.

Now, the family lived in Switzerland for a few years, and moved back when I was like nine. SO they remember me from when I was little. But looking at pictures I could never remember them! But as soon as I saw Catherine(the mother) I remembered her! I just had to see her in person. That’s so strange :) That I didn’t revognize her from pictures but I did in person… She’s really nice and funny too, so I’m really glad. I was really lucky to be able to stay with a family like this.

ANd yesterday evening I was introduced to practically the whole neighborhood so yeah…

I was just playing Wii Sports with the kids before, we were playing tennis and boxing and baseball. I’m best at tennis, I didn’t play boxing that long so I can’t really tell and I SUCK at baseball. Well, I suck at batting. Pitching was ok though…

I’ll have pictures of the family up as soon as it’s not awkward for me to be taking pictures of them XD I don’t wanna seem like a total creep :)

Yesterday we went to the school to get me signed up. I really wonder how it’s gonna be, if it’s harder/easier/same as my school or what… I picked classes: psychology, chemistry, philosophy, fashion design, broadway musical, english, french, photography, 3d animation and web page design. But I won’t get all of them, some of them I picked as a second choice. But yeah :D I’m excited. The school seems big, but smaller than my school in Switzerland… And it seems a little shabby. But I’m not judging :) It looks like they’re redoing parts of the school. But the people in the neighborhood all said Conestoga (the school) was really good. They were all raving about it :D So I’m looking forward to that :)

Aaaaand yeah, pictures under pictures (duuh….), probably have more to write about but I’m to lazy to think about it now :)

<3

Hi!

So I’m in Virginia now :) It’s 2:30 in the morning and I should go to bed but you know me… I’m too busy rendering videos (It’s the last day of my test version of sony vegas :(), uploading photos and videos, IMing, writing in here etc…

Tomorrow we’re gonna drive up to Washington D.C. and visit a friend of my moms :)

So yeah, I finally uploaded the video of my cat to youtube:

And I also uploaded a video of the ship that I made for my friends :) It’s a bit long… but you can fast forward the boring parts :D

Yeah, that’s all for now :) I might update tomorrow (technically later today)

<3

(wrote this two days ago but couldn’t upload until now)

Okay. So I know I haven’t written in over a week. Or two weeks? I can’t keep track anymore…

Yeah, so the cruise has ended. I’m kinda recovering from PCD: Post Cruise Depression :)

Yes, that’s how great it was. I already miss the people from the cruise so much :(

The cruise: It was amazing. They had these photos and paintings in the hallways, there were some very nice photographs, one of gas stations (incredible how someone can make those beautiful XD) and one of a street: the photographer used a really cool technique, I’ll have to try that sometime: he made a picture of a street during the day, then left the camera in the exact same position, and took the same picture at night. Then he merged the two. It gave the picture an eerie sort of glow.

The first place we stopped at was Labadee, on Haiti. It was nice, but it was a very touristy place, you didn’t meet he “real” people. But it was a nice place to swim.

The second day we stopped in Jamaica. It was so fucking boring. We went back on the ship after 10 minutes. It was just this big building with shops selling loads of crap.

The third day we landed in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. That was cool. I bought a t-shirt that’s black and white, and in the sun it becomes colourful :D I also bought a nail polish that’s clear, and in the sun becomes red. And I saw a chicken on the street! It was kinda cute :) I videotaped it, like so many other things. I think I’m just gonna make three videos at the end of my vacation: 1. the cruise, 2. the road trip and 3. Hamptons and NYC.

The fourth stop was in Cozumel, Mexico. OMFG. It was sooo much fun^^ I’ll have to start at the beginning of the cruise to explain why.

Ok, so the first night, the day we got on the ship, was okay, maybe a little boring, but I was so stunned by the hugeness of the ship, so I didn’t notice. Then the second day I met some cool people: the first four I met were Austin, Jonathan, Chris and Raph. Austin is from California, and the three guys are from New Jersey. We had a lot of riding up and down in the same elevator (yes the ship has elevators :D) and asking random people who got on if they “liked to dance”, and then we’d turn on the music and dance around them :D Some people danced with us!! That was great…

Then later I also met some other people: Kelly from Canada, Kaitlyn and Caitlin from New York, two girls from Long Island, Scott and Nicolas from New Jersey…

Somehow Austin, Kelly, Kaitly, Caitlin and I ended up talking about Desperate Housewives which really brought us together :) Funny… but we couldn’t remember the name of the girl who used to be Julies best friend, then moved away and now can’t remember anything. SO we went up to my stateroom and looked it up on the internet: it was Dylan! So because of that we ended up having an hour of girltalk, which we later named “GTT” (girl talk time). We did that every night, and start out with everyone answering a question like “what was your most awkward moment, cutest moment with a guy” etc. and we got to know each other pretty well. Unfortunately Caitlin left on the second day… so we continued with the four that were left. From our second GTT we always ordered cheese and cookies from room service (which was free :D). It was the best… but it kinda annoyed the guys. Always at twelve we were like “ok, GTT!” and they were like “Noo not fucking GTT! Come on…”.

But it kinda made it more fun :P

And one night Austin and I (the other two had to go back to their rooms at one…) stayed up till 4.30 in the morning, telling stories, laughing and acting drunk even though we weren’t XD It was so much fun… I stated that, if you take any word, add a “the” in the beginning and an “s” at the end, you have a rock band name. So we invented rock band names for hours. “the awkward unicorns”, “the walls”, “the F’s”. We even invented two rival gangs: The pads and the tampons XD That night was unbelievable…

But yeah, Mexico: we, Kelly, Austin and I, went to Señor Frog’s, it was so much fun :) We had nachos (there’s a whole inside story to nacho cheese… Austin REALLY loves nacho cheese…), and then one time they put on music and the waiters came to get us and started dancing with us! With sombreros and everything XD We soo made their day :) And then the song “Bleeding Love” came on, and I videotaped Austin and Kelly playback singing to it. :) And after that the song “Love in this Club” came on and we got up and started dancing to it and changed the lyrics to “love in this restaurant”, and the waiters took pictures of us with their cell phones o.O which was a little creepy… but they were ok.

After Señor Frog’s we went shopping. And we saw these marble seahorse-unicorns everywhere! Like little statues of them! So we named them seaunis :D And we are now fans of seaunis! We even made a little song for them, but I’m not gonna write that here ;) And I bought a purse made of candy wrappers, which was originally 20$ but I got it for 15$ :D He was like 20$ And I was 15$, he: 18, I: FIFTEEN! And he was like, okay 15$!

Yeah. And the guys bought Mexican wrestling masks XD So funny… and once as a punishment for silent football (explain later), Kelly had to go wrestle Jonathan in the middle of the promenade. XD Epic… (the promenade is like the atrium of the ship with shops and cafes and restaurants. And a lot of people :)

Silent football: you pass an imaginary football around by clapping on your thigh once or twice (depends on if you want to pass it to the person next to you, or the person next to that one.) or by pointing to someone (but a “Point” can be rejected). The rules that make it fun are: You cannot show your teeth during the whole game. There’s a captain and only he/she can speak at will, everyone else has to get permission to speak from the captain by putting their hand on their head, wait to be called and then ask for permission to speak. You’re not allowed to cover your mouth, and you cannot cross your hands. And you have three lives, everytime you do something wrong you lose one, and the one that looses all of them first has to do a punishment. And it’s a childish game, but SO MUCH FUN XD especially because you can’t show your teeth…

And there was a club, but we didn’t really go there… we had enough to do. :)

And there was a pizza place were you could get free pizza! Almost 24 hours! Till three in the morning :)

And after the first two days you could really feel the ship rocking back and forth… it was scary at first but I got used to it :)

And remember the nail polish I bought? Well, most of it spilled. In the bathroom of the ship. (which was tiny by the way…). But it’s ok, I bought a new better one. An electric blue :D

And on the cruise we tried the “Name that tune” game, for rock songs and I only knew three of 20 o.O Buuut, I won the harry potter trivia :D There were only three teams but still :) I won three photo albums :)

And oh god… the love and marriage game, so funny! There was a newlywed couple (married 11 days) a middle aged couple (31 years) and an old couple (51 years). The middle aged couple was fat, I’m sorry to say it but it’s true and they were so funny… When the cruise director (who was the moderator as well, he’s the Australian I couldn’t understand in the beginning during the drill. He was really funny too, him and “phil” the other guy helping him. I kinda miss that “Good morning, good morning” wake up call :)) asked the guy “what is your wife’s sexiest piece of clothing”; he said “nipple rings” and everyone was like “seriously?!” And when the women came back in, the cruise director gave her a hug and was like “omg yes it’s true!!” to the crowd XD SO funny… and the old couple was so cute :)

And the ice skating show was great as well… incredible, an ice show on the ocean :D

There was just so much going on. I’ll probably remember more in the next few days and just post it in my next blogs entries…

Yeah… I’m sad the cruise is over. It was so great. Everyone was so nice and I met great people. I really miss them :( I mean, we were together 24/7 and suddenly they’re gone… but I’m gonna see some of them in NYC in a week or so :)

So after we got off the cruise we got a car in Miami and started driving up towards Fort Lauderdale, were we stayed at the Monte Carlo Motel. And right after getting there we found out that my great-aunt Mary died on the first night of the cruise :( What was strange is that she died around the time I was down on deck four at the railing, watching the waves and listening to music… It was kind of unfair, we were going to visit her only a few days later…

We went up to Port St. Lucie, were my aunt mary had lived and my other great aunt and uncle live, and met the rest of the family who came there too. I met my uncle Toni and his wife Nita for the first time! They were nice and he was funny :) So we styed with our family and had breakfast with them the next day, went to visit my aunt mary’s grave, went to a mall (I bought an Abercrombie sweatshirt the day before, and on that day a t-shirt, a dress/tee, two oversized mens shirts that I’m gonna wear as dresses with leggings :)), and then ate at this BBQ place, with even more family members.

The next day we went back to Fort Lauderdale and met my moms cousin and her daughter at this great Mexican restaurant “Carlos and Peppe’s”. Then later we went back to their house, and I went out with my cousin Tiana. I had so much fun :) She took me to her friends house. There were five guys there and we were the only two girls, and I played Beer-pong for the first time! :) Even though I don’t like beer that much… oh well. Of course my cousin and I lost because we were playing against the guys… And I drank 5 of the beers and she only one, because she had to drive us back home. When I got back to the hotel I fell asleep real fast as you can imagine :) Ah… was fun. I want to go visit her at spring break.

The next day we drove up north and stopped at Amelia island near Jacksonville and wow. It was soo beautiful. That little hotel was so cute, I’ll have to upload pictures… and it was right by the beach! And there were almost no people around there. It was so nice and quiet. We stayed there two nights, and after the first we went to the fort clinch park. That was really nice, the trees were hanging in over the road and it was like a little tent. And we saw huge butterflies and strange animals in the rear view mirror. Nobody knew what that was o.O It was a mother with it’s baby. It was a little bigger than a cat, had thin long legs, a hunched back, like the hind legs were higher than the front ones, it had a thin long snout and big pointy ears and it was black.

Anywhoo

After the second night we drove up to North Carolina for 6 hours. I kinda liked that, I slept for about 2 hours. And we had to drive up this really rocky country road. Hehe… that was fun :D

The reason we drove up there is that we went to visit an old friend of my dads from work. He and his wife moved to the States 15 years ago or so. They were interesting people. She’s a seamstress and he’s a former architect and an artist. I really liked his paintings, he has a website, maybe there are some of the paintings on there: www.wernerhaker.com

I really liked his studio. It had paint splatter and all that. A lot of brushes… It made me want to have my own studio :) And what’s funny is that he too feels like a different person when he speaks English than when he speaks German. Like, I feel more “business” and rational when I speak German, and more artistic and “feely” when I speak English… Yeah, was interesting talking to them. They have a dog too, a female pit bull who was rescued from being abused. She was very shy and scared easily…

So the next day (today, 888), we drove down a little again, to Atlanta, where we’re staying with my aunt Lori and her husband Kenny. We’re watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics right now. The beginning was pretty amazing, but now’s the boring part with all the countries marching in… We’re waiting for USA and Switzerland :)

I wrote up more topics to write about in my little red booklet, but I’m gonna save those for the next few days :) Hope I didn’t bore you too much if you read all of this…

Gonna be staying here for two nights and then we’re gonna head up to Washington.

<3

That’s the name of the cruise ship.

Well not really.

I miss my post it notes :( I don’t know… I’m just so used to always having a stack of them lying around.

Be prepared, this is gonna be a long entry. Haven’t really written in here for a few days, in which I have done and seen a lot. We just got on the cruise ship “Liberty of the Seas”, and I can finally unpack all my electronics :)

First off, I forgot in my last post: I went to visit my cat Lucky with my brother on Tuesday :) I went to visit him a few months ago and I think that helped. You may wonder why I have to “visit” my cat. Well, we got him when I was about three years old, which means he’s about 14 years old now. Two years ago we moved to a new apartment that’s only like 15 minutes away from our old one. Our cat is a very “outside” cat if you know what I mean. He’s very shy and it even took us a long time to really gain his trust. And when we moved he was really unhappy, because we just took him out of his territory… he started walking back to the old place and after the 5th time of getting him and putting him back, we decided we couldn’t keep him any longer. So we left him with an old couple who always lived above us and watched Lucky, our cat, when we were on vacations. He was also kinda their cat, because she always fed him in the basement :) Anyway, he lives there now and at first we couldn’t really visit him because he was never around or he was so scared we’d take him back to the new place, that he’d run away.

But after I went to visit him, and he saw that we weren’t gonna take him back, I think he’s started to trust us again. And I really wanted to see him before I left for a year.

So when my brother and I got to our old house, he was in the garden and he immediately lay down and let us pet him :) He’s in quite good shape for his age…

I made videos! I still have to edit them but I don’t feel like it right now, we just got on the cruise ship and everything’s too exciting for me to just sit around. I’ll edit them during the week. I also have some videos I made on the plane/during our travel/in Miami, I’ll be editing those as well :)

Before I left I had a lot of fun with my friend Kristina, from Australia, and her boyfriend Rob who came to visit her. It was the last time I had something to drink before we left for the States, where I’m not allowed to drink anymore… We had piña coladas :D And then we danced around on this strange, moving board on a playground while singing “wonderwall” and the music for the waltz of the flowers in nutcracker.

Ballet dancers. Crazy people…

Anywhooo… I finally made the pill cereal shots! Yay fer me! I still have to edit those as well… I have so much to do :P

Wow. So, I stopped writing this entry at around 4.30 and now it’s 22.20. I had to stop because we had the drill, you know, what to do incase of an emergency. We had to put on lifejackets and go to our meeting point and then stand there in a big crowd and listen to the speakers (they were talking so fast in an Australian accident, I couldn’t understand half the time…). I really don’t like big crowds so I didn’t really enjoy the drill. Plus it was hot and we had to wear these big lifevests.

And then we finished unpacking, and went to eat dinner. There are two seatings, and we got the earlier one from 6-8.30. But we were able to get the later one from 8.30-whenever. The restaurant is HUGE. It’s three floors and just super big. It seats 2500 people at once! And there are two seatings, so all in all there are like 4250 passengers (that’s what the waiter said). And 1250 employees. The waiters were funny :) We got our own specific table that only we can sit at and we couldn’t find it at first, so we asked a guy were it was. And he said “No there must be a mistake there is no table 452”. And I thought wtf?!? This can’t be! And I showed him the card and as soon as I gave it to him he started laughing and was like “No, I’m just joking” :D And our waiters were also really nice, they’re both from Goa in India. The one guy told us how they have to work for 6 months non-stop, and then they get 7 weeks off… must be tough. They have to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner too o.O

Later I went to the “Promenade”, the shopping area, and bought some M&M’s and a little plastic holder for my room key that I can hang around my neck. The card is so cool :D It pays for everything and it’s your room card. So basically, if you loose it, you’re screwed.

But back to Miami. On Friday we went to the Aventura mall. I went to Urban Outfitter (<3 my favourite) and got two t-shirts and a cigarette holder-style card holder. The one t-shirt is grey and has “QUEEN” spelled on it :D (is this the real life, is this just fantasy…)

And the OTHER one, has something just as cool on it. Only a few days before I left, I took out an old book again, one that used to be one of my favourites when I was little: Where The Wild Things Are. Most of you probably know it. I loved the part where his room turned into a forest and then he sailed for a year… And that’s what’s on the t-shirt!! :D

And we bought luggage, a suitcase that I can push around easier. But the strange thing is, there were barely any single suitcases, the always came in sets of at least 4. Even stranger is that the sets were 50% off, which made them cheaper than the single ones. So my dad and I thought we’d buy one of the sets and if we absolutely had no more room, we could always throw one onto the street or give it to a bag lady.

Then we went to get some ice cream an meet the rest of the family, and when my mother heard of our idea she was all “No! Why buy four suitcases? It doesn’t make sense!” And when we explained it to her she just got all “fine, do what you want”, which in her language means: “go ahead and do the stupid thing, you’ll be sorry cause you’re wrong!”

And then when we were looking at more suitcases, we had the choice: buy one suitcase for 90$ or four for 150$. The 150$ ones didn’t have good wheeles, so first we thought, lets take the single one after all. And my dad said: “we’ll then mom get’s it her way after all.” And we paused. And then I said: “but are you sure we shouldn’t take the 150$ ones? It has stupid wheeles but yeah…” And then something really funny and a little creepy happened. I was about to say something when my dad said it first: “also, I don’t want to take the single one because that’s what your mom wants.”

XD Apparently, my dad and I both have the need to prove that we’re right. And after that I said “ me too.” And we started laughing. Really laughing. Evil laughing :D

It was fun.

Anyway, on the ride back to the hotel (we took the bus, 40 minute ride), there was this very chatty lady (understatement) on the bus. She started talking to this couple from Holland and she told them they should “have babies”, and then she said “or just get a dog. I have one and I love it more than my children. Don’t tell them that…” And just stuff like that…

And then today when we had to repack our stuff into the new luggage, my dad and I had the same idea again, at the same time. We were trying to fit two of the new suitcases into an old one, to send all three of them to Pennsylvania, because we’re going there in two weeks. And then the middle sized one didn’t fit into the biggest one, and we were like “shit. What now” And the I thought that my brother could put his stuff into that middle sized one and then we’ll put the one he was currently using into the biggest one. But right after I said “Wait… if-“, my dad said: “Edi! Unpack your suitcase”. I guess we’re very alike o.O I don’t know if that’s good or bad…

My mom got an iPod by the way… the new iPod nano. I still have the first one^^ In white. I wouldn’t want a new one.. maybe a bit more room for more songs, but I like my poddie. I’ve had him for over two years <3

Guess why she got it: so she could listen to white noise when my father snores.

Now, I’m not sure, but isn’t snoring kinda like white noise? I mean, it’s always the same and you get used to it after a while and block it out, right? I don’t know… my mom’s funny :)

And I also bought some more stuff at CVS today, before we got on the ship.

I bought (from left to right):

1. Revlon “Midnight Affair” nail polish (a very dark blue). I usually don’t use nail polish, but I’ve always wanted a dark blue…

2. Neutrogena concealer, because I always have rings under my eyes.

3. Queen Helen’s Mint Julep Masque, we always had it at home, but it was almost finished so I bought a new one instead of shlepping it along.

4. Burt’s Bees lip balm <3

5. Aerosol suncream spray, it’s great cause it’s really fast to apply.

6. waterproof eyeliner pencil from N.Y.C.

7. scar therapy, makes my scares go away, but I have to use it twice a day for a few months…

Jaja… Oh! And I finally have the before/after photos of my room, but I’m too lazy to resize them right now. I’ll do it tomorrow :) (It seems I’m doing everything tomorrow, like jogging at 7 in the morning)

Yeah, the ship’s great. It does sway a little, but it’s not bad. I’ll get used to it. And it’s really windy outside. And there’s a casino in here! But of course I can’t use it -.-

Gonna finish my nails now and go to sleep… Maybe sneek down to the deck with the railing and say good night to the sea.

<3

Hehe :) I was afraid o pack mine in my carry-on because they could think that’s what I want to do.

Haven’t written in here since sunday because I’ve been so busy… saying goodbye to friends and packing. I also bought a ring :D

It’s made of acryl and silver… pretty cool :)

I’m sure I forgot most of the things I wanted to write about but whatever… doesn’t matter :)

The flight to here was ok. I don’t like flying but it wasn’t that bad. It was 9 h 45 min long but it seemed shorter. And I don’t even know why. I didn’t use my laptop, I only half watched “be kind rewind”, didn’t play any games, finished my magazine during takeoff. Yeah. I just kinda sat/lay there and listened to music, filmed and took pictures out the window. And the food was ok too, the main course wasn’t that great but they served this “Lauch” thing later which was really good (I think mainly because it was nice and warm :)) And there was a family with a cute little baby sitting next to us on the plane. He fell down once and he looked at my and started to cry on te floor… aw, poor baby… I just smiled a him and ten seconds later he was laughing again… Aww… sometimes I wish I could be a baby again :) (my parents probably too… )

After we got to the hotel we didn’t really do much. We walked down some road (forgot the name^^), and in the end went to eat at an italian restaurant. It was really good but I couldn’t finish it o.O My calzone was so huge… And then we went to CVS (I love that place. It’s so huge and the have everything, in every size from teenie-tiny to ridiculously huge). And to walgreens to get the right adapter to start my laptop :) Which I did now.

I think I’m gonna have to end this post here and write again tomorrow. I’m really tired. The room feels like it’s swaying, like a ship or an aeroplane. And it’s already 11.30, so for me it’s 5.30 in the morning^^ That’s pretty good for my first night, I might not even have jetlag.

<3

So, my room is almost clean, I’ll be posting some before/after pics tomorrow.

Guess what I found in the newspaper the other day under “Webtipp”(where they tell you about a good/new/funny website).

Samorost!! Haha, and I just thought: I already knew that site:)

Yesterday I thougth about studying. I realized it’s not that bad. I mean, you save money, because you don’t have time to go shopping. You loose weight because you forget to eat. And, the most obvious reason: you get good marks on your tests. But it is kind of annoying to be tired and irritated all the time.

Yesterday I was up until one in the morning, looking at old photos with my dad. They’re so funny :) There are ones of my parents when they were little, so cute!! My moms wearing a tutu, and my dad is wearing this strange, baby-jumpsuit thingy o.O And there are pics of me and my brother and other family :) Funny…

I think, when I’m in the states for a year I’m gonna try internet shopping. I found some really cool stuff on american apparel…

And here are some more links:

That’s all for now :)

<3

Hm. I couldn’t take the pictures of the pill cereal yet, because we don’t have enough milk ._. I’m gonna go buy some tomorrow.

But I did take pictures. I was hungry, so I went into the kitchen where I got a plum. And I bit into it, and it had this really nice red color, so I went onto the balcony and took some photos. I really like them :) I think because I remembered the idea with the pill cereal, that I kinda relaxed a little… and I just had luck :)

Plus my room is almost completeley “decluttered”. I’m in the last phase, which I like to call the “surface”. It means that I cleaned out everything and sorted it (like in the drawers/shelf etc.), but that the items that were in the wrong place, and don’t have a category yet, are still lying around because I couldn’t put them back in the shelf/drawer after sorting them out. So my room actually looks quite messy, but in reality, it’s not :) It’s all an illusion, an illusion I tell you!!

hokai, I’m getting a little overdramatic here o.O

But what I wanted to say, is that cleaning my room probably helped too. And I packed most of my clothes, so they’re out of the way. And I put all my tchotchke in the empty drawers, so they won’t catch too much dust while I’m away for a year, and then when I come back I don’t have to dust them :)

I just watched “What happens in Vegas” on the internet. I kinda like it, it’s cute. Even though I usually don’t really like those kind of movies.

I’m gonna go to bed now.
I really like plums. Why do only cherries and strawberries get attention? Plums are sweet too! And they have a nice color. And an interesting skin. And apples too. They’re crunchy. Seriously? What is it with strawberries and cherries? I mean I like them too, but other fruits exist too ya know.

I remembered the idea! Remember that I said I feel like I had this great idea but forgot it? I remembered it! I was cleaning up and I remembered!

The “pill-cereal”, tons of meds in a bowl and then milk and tada! :D I remembered!^^ While I was cleaning up… uh. Now I can relax :)

I know I just wrote an entry, but I need to write another one.

I have total “art-block”. Not that I draw or anything, but I just can’t take pictures I like anymore. I thought it would get better after school ends but it hasn’t really gotten better. I wanna take some fucking pictures. NOW. I am losing my mind. I need to have pictures. urgh. blech.

I wrote up all these ideas, but I’m just not doing them. At least not when I should be. Plus I need models. I’m just never happy, or almost never happy, with self-portraits. Especially because I can’t see the shot until I’ve made it and then I can’t really “work” on it.

I should be taking photos during the day, when there’s good lighting. But I only get ispired to do something at night, when theres only stupid light, and I’m tired, and I should go to bed.

And I don’t know what to take pictures of. I really hope I get inspired and get ideas when I’m in america. :(

I miss my ideas…

plus I just got my new camera.

Although maybe that’s the problem. I have a new camera and now I REALLY want to take pictures and I’m trying too hard. mhm.

I feel like I’m beginning to repeat myself. I need to do more. Maybe I’m not trying hard enough? Like, I’d like to do portrait shots. I got this book with Edward Steichen photographs, which really inspired me, and I want to take pictures like that too. Of course not exactly, but just portraits. I want to try something new. Or animals. I want to photograph animals. Horses maybe, but not just your usual horse photo, I want it to be like portrait of a person… but with a horse, that would be fun.

And I want to take pictures with whipped cream.

I dunno, I’m just really frustrated right now.

I feel like I had this really great idea once, but I didn’t write it down, and now I can’t remember it.

Help?

I keep picking titles with -ING o.O

Yep. I’m starting to pack. After I had a dream last night that it was already a weeks from now and I only had a few more hours left before I had to leave. And in those few hours I had to pack my stuff. Stuff for a year. Yeah, that was kinda my reality-check. I realized that a week isn’t that long. And I still have so many people to meet before I leave…

Yesterday something really scary happened. I got on the bus after meeting a friend in town, and I saw this huge cloud of black smoke, on the hill where our house is, just further up, kindof over the hill behind some trees. It looked really huge and scary and black. And it was one of those clouds after an explosion, or at least it looked like one. I told myself that it was probably nothing but I still called my mom at home, just because I’m paranoid and you know… she said she hadn’t heard an explosion and that she can’t see any black cloud… But as soon as I got home we heard sirens… and in the evening my dad heard on the radio that a house in Meggen (the area right next to lucerne, where we leave, really near us) had burned down completely. And today I read in the newspaper that a barn had burned down. No humans were hurt, but 30 animals died :( There was one singed cow that ran out and then wanted to run back in because it probably had a calf, but the managed to keep it out… and the farmer had gotten awards for his milk cows. They couldn’t interview him because he was so shocked… The people that live around the barn said they heard an explosion and then saw 10-20 metre high flames coming out of the barn. I mean really, that cloud was huge, I could see it from the city! Which is about 20 min away from there…

And then today it was really rainy. We had the windows open around noon. And you could smell ashes. The wind probably blew the particles over… we don’t live far away at all, so it’s possible. And then I had a horrible thought: those ashes aren’t just from wood. We were smelling more than just burned wood.

It’s sad :( It was the biggest fire in that are in 10 years… The whole barn had burned down by the time the fire department had gotten there… I hope the farmer will be able to keep working… poor guy, I mean, he lost all of his cows and pigs and calfs.

Well… something happier: on the same day, 25 year ago my parents got married :) So they’ve been married for 25 years… a long time. :)

Today I saw Daria (~chiffonshorts) for the last time before she, and then I leave. :( But we have skype and msn and the internet in general so it won’t be so bad :)

You will not believe what just happened to me. Right now. I took a break from writing to go gt some juice and crereal (<3). And I took out the bowl, turned around to get the cereal, and I knocked the bowl to the floor where it broke. So I had to pick the pieces up and make sure there weren’t any little parts lying around anymore. BUt that’s not all.

Same player tries again, I took another little bowl out, set it on the counter, turned around to get the cereal and it happened all over again. -.-

I broke two old little bowls in 5 minutes. Somehow gravity, or what/whoever, doesn’t want me to eat cereal. Why does this stuff happen to me? Ugh vey…
